CRH STATEMENT OF IDENTITY
| What does CRH do? |
|
CRH exists to facilitate the realisation of optimal health care and quality of life for underserved and marginalised rural communities through the:
• health system;
• university; and
• community networks.
|
| What is the problem that CRH is the solution to? |
|
The poor quality of and access to health care for poor communities in rural areas.
|
| How does CRH address this problem? |
|
CRH uses the following to address the problem:
1. Research
2. Formal education programmes
3. Capacity building (including: training; support; networking; and appropriate interventions)
4. Advocacy
|
| Who are the beneficiaries of CRH's work? |
|
1. The Department of Health;
2. Health workers;
3. Students; and
4. Communities through community networks.

| What is important and valued for CRH as it does its work? |
|
1.Equity, justice and fairness.
2. Excellence, including:
• Ensuring that the work is making a difference.
• That the job is done well and to deadline.
• Evidence-based health care practice.
3. Teamwork, including:
• Respect for each other.
• Encouragement and recognition.
• Envisioned leadership
